I live in Glasgow, Scotland, with my wife, Hollie, and our Siberian Husky, Mutley. Belfast, Northern Ireland, and Boston, Massachusetts, have also been home at one point or another; in some ways they still are.

My professional profiles describe me as a Specialty Trainee in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Glasgow. Alongside clinical work, I have active research interests in immune tolerance induction, reconstructive transplantation, and tissue engineering. If this is of interest to you, please get in touch via UofG.

My Instagram profile might leave you with the impression I’m a full-time mountain athlete, ultra-runner, and adventurer. I nearly always have a camera close at hand.

Someone who knows me very well has observed that I refuse to stay put in any one “box”. Perhaps they’re right. I prefer to consider myself in terms of verbs rather than nouns.

Above all else, I am always looking for lessons, and believe in the value of effort and examination as teachers.
